This week, in addition to daily ruleset and IOC updates, we provided Stamus Security Platform customers with the following improved defense(s):

Glove Stealer is a .NET information stealer targeting sensitive data from browser extensions and software, including cryptocurrency wallets and password managers. It bypasses encryption using a supporting module. Spread through phishing emails and disguised as a fixing tool.

Iranian-backed group Magic Hound engages in cyber espionage targeting U.S. and Middle Eastern officials and organizations since 2014, likely working with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps through elaborate social engineering tactics.
Info stealers are malware that gather data from infected computers and send it to attackers. They use methods like browser hooking, web injection scripts, form grabbing, keylogging, and stealing saved passwords.
China's APT17 is a threat group targeting U.S. government entities, defense industry, law firms, IT companies, mining companies, and NGOs with network intrusions.
Lateral Movement involves using various techniques to navigate through a network and gain access to remote systems. Brute force attacks outbound can indicate compromise or malicious insider behavior.
In April 2024, researchers found compromised sites leading to an iframe on pley[.]es showing an error message. The payload domain was taken offline, preventing infection. Later, the iframe was replaced with the ClearFake inject.
Adversaries may use custom command and control protocols to communicate, mimicking or developing protocols on top of standard network stacks, instead of using existing Standard Application Layer Protocols.
Trojans are malicious software disguised as legitimate programs used by cyber-thieves to gain access to users' systems. They can spy on users, steal data, and provide backdoor access to the system.
Attackers infect enterprise networks with malware by promoting fake browser updates on hacked websites, leading to the installation of banking trojans and later ransomware encryption on compromised networks.
Glupteba is a trojan virus distributed by cyber criminals through malicious ads on legitimate websites. It can install other malicious programs and should be removed immediately.
Fake update variants like SocGholish, Clear Fake, Smart Ape, and ClickFix are being tracked by a collaboration introducing the LandUpdate808 Fake Update Variant.
Lumma is a C-based information stealer sold on Russian underground forums and Telegram by LummaC since August 2022. It targets cryptocurrency wallets and has file grabber capabilities.
Remote Access Trojans allow covert surveillance and unauthorized access to victim PCs, collecting keystrokes, passwords, screenshots, and more. They differ from keyloggers by providing remote access capabilities to attackers.
ESET researchers discovered NGate malware targeting clients of Czech banks. Malware relays payment card data from victims' Android devices to attacker's rooted Android phone.
Adversaries use encryption, encoding, and obfuscation to hide executable files for evasion. This common tactic is used on various platforms and networks to avoid detection.
OilRig, a suspected Iranian threat group, targets various industries in the Middle East since 2014. FireEye links group to Iranian government based on infrastructure details and targeting alignment.
Parrot TDS allows malicious campaigns like FakeUpdate (SocGholish) to trick users into downloading a fake browser update, delivering a remote access tool to victims through infected websites.
